Heating & Cooling Garden Offices, Studios and Lodges

Insulation and heating are not luxuries, they are essentials. What type of heating would you use in a garden office? We all have differing creature comforts some prefer a warmer climate whilst others lean towards air conditioning.

If your garden office is properly insulated the heat given off by humans, lighting and office equipment can make a significant contribution.

Temperatures vary depending on the size of your garden office, obviously smaller garden buildings will deliver a comfortable temperature faster than a large, and can be heated just by lighting and computer equipment, even in winter.

Windows contribute to the temperature of your garden office, large windows facing the sun could easily make you feel you are in a greenhouse but in winter would provide welcoming daylight to your garden office. Finding the balance is an art!

From experience, a DeLonghi Dragon is an excellent oil filled radiator, it has timer and thermostat so you can set the timer to heat your garden office before arrival.

Garden Studio coolers and air conditioners

There are air coolers on the market that have an ice tray and a fan that blows the ice cold air around the room.

B&Q offer an ice cube air cooler for around £170. Robert Dyas has a tap water fed cooler for around £160.
