Doors & Windows in Garden Offices, Studios and Lodges

There ae three issues when choosing your garden office doors and windows; cosmetics, security and energy effeciency.

Cosmetics relate to the finish of your garden office.

Security may be more important and security isn't pretty, finally there is energy effeciency. Priority is of course your own choice.

You might choose garden office doors and windows to suit the look of your garden office. You might opt for wooden doors and windows.

Then you are faced with choices of hard wood and softwood. Maintenence is an issue with real wood, but if you chose a uPVC range, you are not stuck with white. There are grained uPVC doors and windows with differing colours so you can match the rest of the building.

uPVC usually come as standard with toughened safety glass and double glazed for energy effeciency. They have at least five lever locks and often multi-point locking systems for extra security.

The larger the glass area, the more light you let in...and the more heat in summer.

From a security issue, the more glass, the more intruders see inside.

Ensure you have adequate blinds for security and UV protection.
